History

In May of 1978, Wyatt Johnson, PE, LS founded Wyatt Johnson, PE, LS Land Surveying. In the beginning, the company concentrated on the surveying business including boundary and mortgage surveys. As the company personnel expanded, the name was changed to 40th Parallel Surveying and ALTA/ACSM surveys and Civil Site Design were added to our services.

40th Parallel was among the first surveying companies in Central Indiana to acquire GPS real time surveying equipment and robots. Our expertise has expanded as increased demands have been placed on local governments and contractors by various state and federal agencies. We now coordinate wetland delineation and prepare erosion control plans. We design residential and commercial subdivisions that require road, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water line and erosion control design, along with coordination of utilities. Our projects have taken us all over Indiana, from Tell City to North Vernon, and from Portland to Vincennes, with the majority of our projects being in Howard, Tipton and Hamilton Counties. Our services have included design of sites for fast food restaurants, banks, shopping centers, transfer stations, office buildings, funeral homes, car lots, manufacturing and sanitary sewer lift stations.
